a dream

In the quiet night I wake to the beat of my heart
Tangled in satin I listen to the dark
The stillness defeats me completely, surprised?
I cast my mind back in the dark to her eyes

dark pools of liquid that gleamed in the night
soft warm and dazzling reflecting the light
I could feel myself sinking in pools much too deep
I could feel myself reaching out in my sleep

It was a moment, a memory sweet
Awakened once more from a slumber so deep
Tangled up limbs and soft satin thighs
Why am I drifting remembering eyes?

Her smile was easy, hesitant, wide
But her eyes could defeat me and dreaming I die
soft skin caresses and the hard rhythm beats
strange how the night fills these moments with heat

My heartbeat is pounding my mind running wild
Tangled in satin the shadows growing mild
Awoke from a slumber so peaceful I weep
Strange how a moment can hold me from sleep.
